On 18th of September, Kia has launched the most awaited sub-segment car of this year, the Kia Sonet. A car loaded with features banged the market with its attractive price starting ₹6.71 Lakh (ex-showroom) while on the other hand If we talk about Tata Nexon, this car is safest against all the cars available in this segment.
Both the cars are not less than a beast in this segment and give tough competition to each other. In this blog, we are going to see the of Kia Sonet v/s Tata Nexon and which car is best for you in terms of their price, space, features, mileage and which car is the perfect value of money for your family and adventure.
If we take some highlights of this car then this car is the first car in India to gain 5-star rating in safety. With a ground clearance of 209 mm and a turbocharged Revotron Engine of 1.2L that gives 118 bhp @ 5500 rpm of power and delivers 170 Nm of torque.
The boot space of the car is 350 Litres with a fuel tank capacity of 44 Litres. Nexon offers only 2 Airbags (Driver, Passenger) and available in petrol, diesel and turbocharged engine. The price of Tata Nexon starts from ₹7.0 L and goes to ₹12.70 L (ex-showroom price).
A newly launched Kia Sonet is a feature-packed car comes with 1.0 L 4 valves/cylinder turbocharged engine, smaller than Nexon’s engine but delivers same 118 bhp of power and 172 Nm of Torque.
The ground clearance is 211 mm, has the biggest storage capacity in this segment of 392 L and a fuel tank capacity of 45 litres.
Sonet offers 6 Airbags (Driver, Front Passenger, 2 Curtain, Driver side, Front passenger Side) compared to only 2 Airbags in Nexon and lots of features like a front ventilated seat, driving modes, smart air purifier and many more.
Kia Sonet is available in petrol, diesel, iMT, Dct engine options and prices start from ₹6.71 L and go till ₹13 L (Ex-showroom Price).
Which car You should buy?
If I first talk about Kia Sonet, then this car comes with tones of features like front parking sensor, led headlamp, biggest boot space, 10.25-inch touch entertainment system which is the first car in this segment. But at the rear, the seats are not so big to make 3 adults sit together but Nexon has not compromised with the comfort for rear passenger and 3 people can easily sit.
Kia has compensated the back seat with bigger boot space and even doesn’t have 60-40 seat split feature in it which Nexon offers you.
For adventure, if you want to go off-road with confidence then Nexon should be your choice as Sonet suspensions are more for highway cruise then off-road.
If we check the price of the cars then fully loaded Kia Sonet is ₹2-3 L more costly than the top variant of Nexon which I think is not value for money in comparison with Nexon
If you want a car which is stable on the highway, exciting on adventures and comfortable and want certified safest car for the family then go for Tata Nexon.
If you want great muscular looks and a car loaded with features and variety of engine options then go for Kia Sonet.
