Post by Tejasv Sharma

Due to coronavirus, rather it affected the lives of many people but also affected the study of children and college students. Now, it’s more than 7 months, the institutions and schools are somehow managing to teach students online which is not easy for students to study online.
In this pandemic, the Uttarakhand government has given responsibility by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to reopen schools in a graded manner. In this blog, we will discuss whether this decision is taken right for students or will the situation become worst for students or children.

Reopening of School in Uttarakhand

The government of Uttarakhand has taken a decision to reopen schools from November 2 for 10th and 12th standard students approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Uttarakhand is one of the several states which initiates to continue in-person schooling.
According to the guidelines issued by the central government, the school will have to follow strict sanitization in school before and after classes daily. School premises have to initiate proper social distancing while students arrive at and leave school, it is compulsory for students and teachers to wear a face mask.
Guidelines also include that parents or guardians of each child will have to give consent to be allowed into school form October 15. Moreover, the students will be given choice to attend Online classes rather than attending school physically.
Social Distancing will be maintained in the classroom and will have a six-feet distance between two students. Ministry also said that the odd-even system will be considered for students to attend school, which means some students will be allowed to attend class on odd days and some on even.

What about hostel and boarding schools?

All the students who stay at the hostel will not be allowed to come back at the same time. Temporary partitions will be made to separate the double-sharing or triple-sharing rooms.
Students will be preferred first who do not have any support at home or do not have any facility for online education.
Students will not be allowed to share your tiffin, notebook, pencil, pen, water bottle and any other items with other students.
Group activities like music, games, dance etc, will be allowed with proper distancing and if the school doesn’t have proper playground then the sports activities will be not be allowed in the school premises.

Is the opening of school safe for Students?

Well, coronavirus has already affected the studies of students but we also cannot take the studies of 10th and 12th grade lightly and need proper attention. Though the cases are on the increase and the school premises will have to be very careful with the student’s safety and security against any mishappening. Hope for the best that everything goes according to the plan and the studies of students should not be affected much.

Stay Safe, JAI HIND🇮🇳
