Mussoorie is one of the nearest and most favourite destination for Delhi People. This place is situated in Uttarakhand and called as Queen of hills. The distance between Delhi to Mussoorie is 290 km and 35km away from Dehradun.
Mussoorie is situated in the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand state at the altitude of 6,578 ft (2,005 metres) and is one of the hill stations in India that offers adventures escapes, beautiful landscape view and amazing food.
In this blog, I’m going to discuss the thing that must do in Mussoorie, how you can reach and how you can travel in the budget to Mussoorie?

How to Visit Mussoorie?

By Road
Mussoorie is well-linked with roads and inter-state bus services. You will get lots of luxury, deluxe, semi-deluxe and standard buses from Delhi, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Tehri and Dehradun.
If you are coming from Delhi, you will easily get the buses from ISBT Kashmiri Gate. The buses will take around 7-8 hrs to reach Dehradun and most of the buses stop at Dehradun and you have to take a taxi for Dehradun.
As the route is smooth from Delhi, you will not get any hurdle if you are travelling by car.

By Air
If you are coming by aeroplane, then you will land on Jolly Grant Airport (45 km from Mussoorie) in Dehradun. This is the domestic and nearest airport to Mussoorie. Most of the regular flights are from Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. From the airport, a tourist can hire a taxi to reach Mussoorie, a taxi will take around 2 hrs from the airport.

By Train
The nearest railway station is Dehradun Railway Station. It is situated at a distance of about 30 km and from there you can take a state bus or hire a taxi to reach Mussoorie.
There are many trains if you are coming from Delhi. Trains like Mussoorie Express, Shatabdi, Nizamuddin AC Special, Dehradun Shatabdi Express (best train) and many other express trains are available to reach Dehradun. From the railway station, you can take a bus or hire a taxi to reach Mussoorie.

Things to Do in Mussoorie

I will only tell you the things and places you must see and save your time searching for things, food etc.
As Mussoorie is called the queen of hill stations, it has many things to offer. From adventures to major attractions, food to eat and many more.
Major Attractions (Must Visit)
1. Mall road
2. Kempty Fall
3. Lal Tibba

Attractions If you have time to visit
1. Camel’s Back road (nothing special)
2. Gun Hill
3. Mussoorie Lake
4. Lake Mist

What you should try on Mall Road?

1. Sweet corn, popcorns, Maggi, Bhutta, Momos from a street vendor.
2. Chaat, Gol-Gappe from Amar Chaat wala
3. Best vegetarian food from Uphar restaurant
4. Best Coffee, hot Chocolate available at Cafe by the way (Cafe Mocha must try).
4. Char Dukan and Cafe Ivy on the way to Lal Tibba.
5. Hotel Savoy for fine dine (especially dinner)

My expense

In this pandemic, we were six visited Mussoorie this October. We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days near to Library chowk. The total expense of the trip was ₹5000 per person including hotel, car, food and other miscellaneous expense.
