5 Most Loved Places You Must Visit in Uttarakhand

Post by Tejasv Sharma

Uttarakhand which is also called “Devabhumi” (a Land of god) is not less than a heaven in this world. This is a state where you will find numerous temples and pilgrimage centres across the state. There might be any Hindu who have not visited Haridwar (the most loved pilgrimage centre).
The beautiful hill stations, iconic views and the natural environment of Himalayas make this place a heaven.
I have visited almost every part of the Uttarakhand, from Mussoorie to Kedarnath, I have felt an energy in the wind which I never got in any other place. The feel is something different like you are in a magical world.
So in this blog, I will be going to share some of my experience with the best place you must visit to explore Uttarakhand more.

Haridwar

Haridwar is the second largest city of Uttarakhand which is situated on the bank of Ganga, at the foothills of Shivalik ranges.
This place has an incredible level of values for Hindu and hosts religious events like Kumbha Mela, which is celebrated after every 12 years in Haridwar
You must see Ganga River Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, Shiv Murti during Sunset and Mansa Devi Temple.
The best time to visit Haridwar is from August to November.

Rishikesh

Rishikesh is also the most important holy place for Hindus and mainly known for Meditation and yoga
Rishikesh is also known as Gateway of Garhwal Himalayas and Yoga Capital Of The world situated nearly 25Km away from Haridwar is also a perfect place to visit and get lost in the laps of nature and spirituality.
You can see Triambakeshwar Temple, Muni Ki Reti, the beautiful evening aarti at Triveni Ghat, Ram Jhula, Lakshman Jhula.
The best time to visit Rishikesh is from August to March.

Mussoorie

A beautiful hill station, the queen of hills has romance in the air. Situated nearly 35 km away from Dehradun and 290 km from Delhi is the best place to enjoy the pleasure of hills and its sweet wind.
Mussoorie is my favourite destination in terms of food, adventures, waterfall and every type of stays that suits your pocket.
You must visit Lal Tibba( the highest point of Mussoorie) yet the best view you can get from this place, Kempty Waterfall, Capital Garden and you can also enjoy sports activities.
The best time to visit Mussoorie is between March to June but for snowfall, you have to visit in January and February.

Jim Corbett National Park

Jim Corbett National Park is one the oldest national park in India, located in Nainital District of the district which is only 183 km away from Delhi, made to protect the Bengal Tigers.
If you love jungle, loves to see animals and birds and want to spend some time in peace with nature, then this place is right for you.
You can do Jeep Safari, visit Dhikala, Kalagarh Dam, Corbet Falls and Garjiya Devi Temple.
The best time to visit Jim Corbett depends on your interest. If you like to watch Birds then plan a trip I winters and if you want to spot animals then summer is the best time. Don’t forget to take Sunscreen in summer as the place is too hot.

Nainital

One of the most loved tourist destinations in Uttarakhand known by the Naini Lake surrounded by Majestic Mountains with exceptional views makes the city even more attractive.
The distance from Delhi to Nainital is 298 km which can be covered in 6 hours and you can enjoy your 2 day holiday easily.
You can go for a boat ride in Naini Lake, shop handicraft items, local woollens, traditional jewellery and you can even trek if you want to.
The best time to visit Nainital is between September to December but most of the tourist loves to spent there time from March to June.
